[ THE.BRIEF ]

451’s management commissioned the photographs around his first US recording sessions at Warner Records. He already had an audience on SoundCloud. I wanted the portraits to convey his drive and vulnerability while keeping a sense of mystery.

I chose monochrome and heavy grain because they suited the persona I wanted to capture. The visual direction was deliberate, from the lighting and framing to the finish of the images.

Developed the portrait direction and handled styling, lighting, and posing.
Photographed and finished the images at the provided location.
